Comments:
This is an overall nice audience recording from the 12/20 show, with very nice clarity, distance, and mix. Key word though is overall, as at many times throughout, a guy (or child) can be heard laughing/cheering, who sounds much like an animal. It wouldn't be a big deal, but he does it at the most inappropriate times, like during "MLK" and "Running to Stand Still." There are also a couple occasions when audience noise is loud, but for the most part they are very quiet, except for that guy. I see almost everyone giving this recording just excellent, I just feel that the guy gets a little irritating. There are also occasional times when a sound like wind can be heard, a low rumbling sound. I wouldn't complain, but I've heard other recordings that don't have these problems and also sound very nice, but none have made it to CD-R. Other than that a standard excellent recording.
This was transferred from a first gen cassette by Javi Dieguez, which previously went under the title "Joshua Tree Finale," but upon discovering a problem with clicks in that recording, Javi re-did it and made the SHNs available, which were corrected (sped-up) to play at the right pitch/speed by Chris Wolf. Don't miss out on this show, but I hope at some point one of the less intrusive recordings surfaces.
