Notes:
The GA was really packed this night since the hype was really big in Chicago. There were a ton of people
in the GA with "working passes" given to them from freinds working the event. Which meant they didn't buy tickets or had
seats so they were on the floor. There was filming outside of the fans waiting to come in the arena, and then I saw
interviewing with fans after the show for use on the upcoming DVD.
Comments: The Vertigo Tour resumes after a week off. Bono and Edge appear to suffer from technical problems, especially early in the set. Bono says a few words in Polish at the start of 'Miracle Drug' (Edge translates), likely in honor of the Polish Constitution Day events earlier today in Chicago. Bono namechecks Coldplay, who are at tonight's show. Stationary cameras are in place around the arena, and fans are interviewed on film in the GA line before the show -- all part of a DVD shoot that will continue in earnest during the next two shows.
Not one of U2's best performances. Bono seemed tired or sick, and he really didn't connect with the crowd
like he usually does. He maybe came out on the ellipse maybe three times, and Edge came out only when he needed to.
Adam carried the show. He was all about on the ellipse, and he was smiling a lot. To say the least it was surprising.
