This is a very nice recording from the center of the Ellipse. Thanks to Bill, Dave, Larry, and Brent for providing the barrier around Mihn to get such a good sounding recording from the loudest place in the arena. Very little audience noise throughout the show, but there is always 1 or 2 that slip in there.
Unfortunately ìHuman Rights Speechì is cut out completely and ìPrideî comes in toward the end of the song due to a disc switch and maybe a bit of taper error??? All in all, a nice addition to the collection. Without the cut songs and a couple of digital glitchís, this is a damn fine MD recording!
Comments: Happy Birthday is sung for a member of U2's crew. Bono brings two young boys on stage to help shine the spotlight during 40. Near the end of the show, Bono thanks Richard Wright of Pink Floyd for their Live 8 performance; Wright is at the show. Also reportedly at the show are the members of R.E.M. Before All Because of You, Bono shares a dedication to Daniel Lanois which is taped for airing at an upcoming Canadian music awards ceremony where Lanois is being honored.
