Love Is Blindness NOTE: Leif Petersen put this recording to CDR from a 2nd gen analog tape. Save for a nearby scream or two from the audience, the clarity is excellent. There is no tape hiss as well. An interesting thing to note is that he chose to include full versions of "Bad"--->"Bullet The Blue Sky" on both discs. A fantastic show put up by Bono and Co. with many improvisations. "One" is sung passionantely with an extended guitar solo at the end. "Unchained Melody", "When Love Comes To Town" and "Stand By Me" made their premiere on the set. Surprisingly, "Slow Dancing" is included as well with Edge on backup vocals and Larry on tambourine. Bono shouts out "Van Diemen's Land" halfway through "Angel Of Harlem" *probably he has forgotten wat to sing next*. "When Love Comes To Town" is sung hilariously as Bono improvises the lyrics about the band starting out. It goes something like this : "I was a boxer or something like that, Edge said,"You don't know the words, better eat your hat." Larry played the drum and Adam played played bass guitar. I guess I was a singer. Boy, did we go far. I ran into a jukejoint when I heard the guitar play. Something about punk music and you didn't have to play. I said,"Hey! I'll give up my job at the petrol station.....get me over to the United States nation." review taken from KC's U2 Bootleg Trading Site, run by Kin Chung |
